"I didn't knew how to tell you... but, it's true, Adela. I do have feelings for you", his words came out in the smallest of whispers and, in that moment, her heart stopped.

She took a deep breath while she raked through her mind looking for the real meaning of Zach's words. That couldn't be. Cruel, insensitive and vain Zach Holtz could not have feelings for her. He did not. But, the more she thought about it and the longer she stared at his apologetic deep blue eyes, the more she was starting to believe it. Is that why he would frequently choose her side even when it was against his step-sister? Is that why he was always willing to help her, take care of her and give her counsel? She had never considered Zach to be the type to aid others out of the kindness of his heart, so she had always thought he just felt pity for her.

I guess not.

In his own twisted way this was the only manner in which he could show her he had... started to fall for her. It was even difficult for Adela to think about this man loving someone. Loving her.

She just stared at him. She took a deep breath, steeling herself for what was to come. "Zach, I- I don't know what to say", but before she could get the words out of her mouth, Zach took a step towards her and holding her gently by the waist, brought their lips closer into a kiss.
