Somebody is going to tell you to get used to this. That feeling of being scared and sad. They're going to say it'll be better when you learn to ignore it.
Don't listen to them. Hold onto it. Remember it. Don't let yourself forget it.
It's too easy to lose.

They speak little of the woman who aided every step of it.
They speak even less of how he abandoned all integrity and left her to die.

And yet,
They call him a hero.

When they write songs of the Hero, Achilles, do they sing of the child he killed?
Of the river his vengeance choked with carnage?
When they tell the story of Hercules, the greatest Hero of them all, do they say how he murdered his family too?
Theseus: the Hero who killed the Minotaur.
Theseus: the Hero who killed his own son.

They will call her The Face That Launched A Thousand Ships before you even hear the name Helen of Troy,
But what do they say of the dogs who fought over her like meat, only to blame their wars on her beauty?

They call me a monster.
I cannot argue.
Perhaps it is for that reason I will be known as such.
Perhaps our heroes are but monsters with the power to take a different name.
Perhaps,
We are all monsters here.”
